Shanghai Film Market to host Iranian Cinema Umbrella

Iranian Cinema Umbrella is slated to be held on the sidelines of Shanghai Film Market.

The first edition of the online Chinese film market is to present a lineup of Iranian films to international distributers.

The event is to host virtual presence of over 70 countries of the world due to coronavirus outbreak.

Over 10 Iranian film institutes are to partake at the Shanghai film market.

The event is slated for July 31 – August 5, 2020.

The Shanghai International Film Festival is considered by many to be the second biggest film festival in Asia. The first edition of the festival was held from October 7 to 14, 1993.

Due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, the 23rd Shanghai Int’l Film Festival, originally scheduled to take place between June 13 to 22, 2020, is currently underway both offline and online  from July 25 to August 2 in a bid to minimize the impact of the pandemic.
